Karin is a naturally born organizing fanatic. She learned the importance of an organized life as a child from her mother and grandmothers.
But, it was only after a career as a clinical psychotherapist and a director of healthcare finance that she began to pursue her true passion as an organizational consultant.
She founded The Serene Home with the intention of helping others create a life that is more relaxed, productive and contented. She also designs and stages home interiors with an emphasis on creating more profitable real estate transactions and more beautiful home environments.
She has studied under Marie Kondo and is one of the few certified KonMari consultants outside of Japan. She is also a certified member of NAPO, the National Organization of Professional Organizers, and RESA, the Real Estate Stagers Association
She has a MSW from the University of Kansas, her home state, and a MBA from Fordham University.
